Driving Miss Daisy Opens September 13 at Pegasus Theater

Pegasus Theater Company will present Driving Miss Daisy, Alfred Uhry’s moving comic-drama about aging and prejudice, at the Rio Nido Lodge, September 13 through October 6.

When Daisy Werthan, a stubborn aging Jewish widow in Atlanta, crashes her car, her son Boolie hires Hoke Colburn, a dignified African-American, to be her chauffeur. Deeply resentful about losing her independence, Daisy sees Hoke as a challenge to her desire to “do for herself.”

Driving Miss Daisy runs every Friday and Saturday night at 8 pm, from September 13 through October 6, and every Sunday at 4 pm except on September 22. The opening weekend is pay-what-you-can; thereafter, general admission is $15, except the final matinee on October 6, which is a fundraising gala for Pegasus with complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres for $30.

You can make reservations online at www.pegasustheater.com or by calling 583-2343. Reservations can be confirmed only if they are made at least three hours before the performance.
